Let's build together!

What if we stopped looking outside ourselves for answers and started building them together?
Adopted from Highlander Research and Education Center

JustUs Training Skool is a week-long leadership retreat for young people who care about their communities and want to learn how to make a difference.
Together with social justice organizations from Mississippi and across the Southeast, we'll explore how people create change when they organize, care for one another, and take action together. Through art, conversation, wellness, and hands on learning, you'll discover that democracy isn't just something that happens during an election—it's something we practice every day through the choices we make and the communities we build.
Our retreat is grounded in the principles of Kingian Nonviolence, which teaches that lasting change comes through courage, love, accountability, and collective action—not violence or harm. You'll learn practical tools for resolving conflict, building relationships, and leading with care.
There is a reason we're gathering in Mississippi. This place holds a deep history of courage, creativity, and community leadership. It reminds us that meaningful change often begins with ordinary people who choose to care for one another and imagine something better together.
We believe the Deep South continues to be a place where healing, culture, and community can shape a more just future.
